how to DIY a little Bohemian into your life

It’s no secret that the bohemian style, with it’s free and breezy ways, is well embraced at the moment. I love the way bohemian touches can give even the stuffiest atmosphere sudden ease and beckons us in. One has only to peruse Pinterest briefly to see the many ways in which people are incorporating a bohemian vibe into their decor and even their fashion. If you know anything about Jos and I then you know we have gypsy in our blood.

We, of course, infuse this into our lives in many different ways. Live plants in containers made of organic materials, raw and rustic shelving with old books, mixing pattern and color with tossed pillows onto your sofa, chair or bed, and Josie loves to drape exotic Saris about . With fashion, mixing the styles up by wearing cowboy boots with a. breezy statement sleeve blouse, or some heavy baroque jewelry with a distressed tee and some chunky heeled clogs. The only rule is, there are no rules. However, our favorite way to pull in some bohemian is with our IOD products! Below are some ways that we and others have been using the brand new Summer 2018 release of IOD to easily bring in the bohemian style in authentic and distinctive ways.

She used Bohemian Borders Decor Transfer and mixed it with Redoute 4 and Le Petite Rosier! Swooning over the mix! This is the kind of piece that centers a room. If it was gracing my abode, I would mix it in with plenty of neutrals allowing it to command the stage without competition! picture it covered with white planters all in different sizes and textures, but filled with greenery cascading and spilling over the top, some worn and distressed chocolate colored leather sofas, same size and facing each other flanked with a heavy brass based glass coffee table with old books piled on top and of course… a plant 🙂 You get the idea! OOOH wait, before I move on… this scenario simply MUST include an emerald velvet armchair!

Personally, I LOVED the tile with the saturated and more detailed impressions, but Jos gave it a sand down to create a more toned down feel. That’s what we love about the IOD line, it’s all about giving you control and bringing your vision to a reality.
